As rodovias da região de Araraquara (SP) registraram um aumento médio de 46% no tráfego entre os dias 24 e 28 de dezembro, mas o crescimento do fluxo não foi acompanhado por uma alta de acidentes, pelo contrário. O número de ocorrências nas estradas de Araraquara, São Carlos, Barretos, Bebedouro, Catanduva, Jaboticabal e Itápolis caiu 55%, de acordo com a Polícia Rodoviária, que divulgou nesta terça-feira (30) os dados da “Operação Natal”.
Foi priorizada a fiscalização de infrações diretamente relacionadas com a ocorrência de acidentes, como direção sob efeito de álcool. Segundo os policiais, foram registrados 39 autos de infração por embriaguez ao volante e 39 por ultrapassagem em local proibido.Segundo o balanço, houve elevação de 10% no números de vítimas na comparação com o mesmo período do ano passado, mas não houve registro de casos fatais. Ao todo, foram fiscalizados 1.196 veículos e emitidas 707 autuações, incluindo para motociclistas.
