A polícia de Tóquio prendeu a artista nesta quarta-feira por exibir esculturas modeladas em sua vagina e distribuir informações digitais usadas para construir um caiaque amarelo inspirado em seus órgãos genitais.
O proprietário da loja de artigos eróticos onde Megumi Igarashi, de 42 anos, que usa o pseudônimo Rokudenashiko, mostrou seus trabalhos também foi preso sob acusações de obscenidade, informou a polícia.
"Eles exibiram figurinos obscenos em uma vitrine para que as pessoas que viessem à loja pudessem vê-las", disse um porta-voz do Departamento da Polícia Metropolitana que não quis se identificar. "Este é um fator novo", acrescentou.
Igarashi passou um período curto presa no início deste ano por um delito semelhante. Sua prisão e sua detenção desencadearam um debate sobre os direitos das mulheres e os limites da expressão artística no Japão.
